Theft from Cars - Aberdeen

Did you lock your car tonight?

Police Scotland are reminding motorists to not to leave valuables in their vehicles and ensure the vehicle is locked following thefts from several motor vehicles in Aberdeen recently.

North East Crime Reduction Officer PC Russell said ‘It sounds simple, but always remember to lock your vehicle. This is the simplest way to keep your vehicle safe. Get into the habit of locking the car every time you leave it and ensure your windows are closed. Don’t just listen out for the sound of your doors locking; check for your lights flashing and/or mirrors closing. Better still, check the door handle!

If possible, don’t leave your belongings in your car. Take them with you if you can. If not, lock them in the boot out of sight.
