National Rural Crime Update

THEFT OF SCRAP METAL- NATIONALLY

In recent weeks Police Scotland have seen an increase in reports of thefts of scrap metal from urban and rural locations nationally. Typically person/s are seen in vans within the curtilage of these locations and if approached state that they are there to uplift the scrap metal, however they do not have such permission. We are urging members of the public to report such matters and if possible to obtain the vehicle registration number.

Any suspicious activity should be reported to Police Scotland by calling 101 or on our web page www.scotland.police.uk/contact-us/
Alternatively information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. For emergencies call 999.
